Questions Ready to Go

A Little Help With the Heavy Lifting

A quick quiz may look simple, but choosing questions that reveal what pupils remember, understand or still find difficult takes thought. The right questions can give you a much clearer starting point for what to teach next. This focused session explores how to use existing AI tools to develop retrieval questions, quizzes and checks for understanding. Start with your learning goal or teaching material, then shape and check the questions so they fit your pupils and tell you something useful.

What we’ll explore

  • Know what you want to find out: Choose the knowledge, understanding or likely misconception your questions should explore.
  • Develop a useful range: Use AI to suggest questions suited to the topic, age group and purpose.
  • Look beyond a plausible answer: Check factual accuracy, wording, difficulty and the answers pupils are expected to give.
  • Make the questions yours: Refine the set so it fits your curriculum and the next lesson you are planning.

What you’ll work towards

Work towards a small, checked set of questions for an upcoming lesson, with a practical approach you can repeat when preparing retrieval practice or checking understanding.
